Final Drafts

 

Here are the sheets planning out what my final piece will look like. It first started out being a story book but then I tried out trying to fit the story onto just one page so I could experiment with printing focussing on only a small range of colours. I then took out the words and drew it out again so it can convey the story, I then changed the size and order of the boxes so it will have visual interest combining both large and small boxes. I then work with separate sheets of water colour each for the background and the foreground detail and ink for the character lines and outline of the boxes. After this I then decided on a title and the final detail.

Final Piece

For my final piece what worked well was the combination of the water colour and the pen detail on the character also the way the boxes don't have any solid outlines with just the colour in flowing blocks for the background. During the project the thing that was the hardest was to narrow down the colours I used to just a select few but ones that would still work well together. The one thing that I would change about my final piece would be to try and make the overall look a lot neater with the inky lines and water colour. However overall I am really pleased with my final piece and its exactly what I wanted it to end up looking like!
